Michigan Football Game

Parking proved to be an adventure. We could have parked on just about anyone's lawn for $20-$30, but we eventually found this parking ramp for $5. Finding this parking ramp afterwards was another adventure. Thankfully I had this picture, that reminded us that there was a giant "P" sign by it.

Here we are outside, trying to find out section. That's Dino in the left corner. We were in section 3, and showed up by section 37, so we went around... through the 30's, the 20's, the 10's, until we got to 3.. Afterwards we realized we had walked around the entire building, and it only went up to 44. It's only funny when it happens to other people.

We showed up a little late, and this was the first thing I saw when we actually got inside. There were a LOT of people in there.

Here's rainy Ann Arbor

We had AMAZING seats. 17 rows up. 20 yard line. If I reached out ahead of me, I could actually touch the people in row 16. They made me stop.

One nice thing was whenever Iowa tried to audible at the line, the crowd got so loud that no one could hear anything. I'm quite confident that the crowd caused at least one delay of game, and one force time-out. That being the case, the crowd actually contributed more than the U of M players.

Did I mention we had really good seats?

Start of the 2nd quarter. Not looking good.

Nothing good can come of this...

The half is almost over, and we still haven't scored.

Halftime, and we managed to score after a dropped punt.

We were supposed to find someone that Selena knew in the band.. but it turned out there were more people in the band than were in the stands, so we failed, miserably.

I started to think that the band was better at moving around the field in precise patterns than the U of M team was.

See that girl waving. I'm forced to assume she was waving at me. I'm guessing she'll call sometime this week, but not too soon, or she might seem desperate.

There's the pressbox, and all that goes with that.

It's only a matter of time before all the college stadiums are corporate sell-out names too.

They have these giant jumbo-trons on both sides of the stadium. I wanted one for my room, but the picture quality was a bit too grainy for my tastes.

Here are the U of M kickers practicing. The reason they are practicing so hard is because they suck horribly. They made about 50% of their practice kicks, and the crowd would erupt every time they did. When they missed [quite badly], the crowd was not as kind.

Alright, 2nd half, and we're coming on strong. Ready for a comeback.

The crowd seemed excited about the second half. The band had done their job... they had made us forget.

I had to take this picture, because it may be the only time you ever see it. The Michigan kicker actually made a field goal. This picture is likely worth a fair amount of money.

Well, we gave up another touchdown.

You probably can't see it, but Lloyd Carr is pissed off.

This here was Michigan's only real form of offense. Run a play, and hope the other team committed some sort of penalty

I don't know if you can see it, but the Michigan receiver in the lower left corner is starting to fade out of this plane of existence. It was kinda freaky. I think there was some sort of rift in the space-time continuum. Oddly enough, Michigan was still unable to actually move the ball forward

This was the run that pushed them back under 50 yards rushing. They ended with around 30. I guess that takes skill.

The crowd quickly picked up on the unusually close proximity this particular ref's head was to his rectum.

This one was just retarded.

The crowd started calling for a new QB about midway through the 3rd quarter.

Here, the field is being consumed by what appears to be a giant ball of twine. It was crazy.

This guy got knocked down and did not move at all. It looked bad. I don't know the ettiquete about taking pictures of injuries, so I just clicked away.

The injury lasted at least 15 minutes. Both benches were down, huddled and praying by now.

Despite the rain and the cold, the Iowa cheerleaders continued to rally up the Iowa fans. I was impressed. Did I say impressed? I meant staring awkwardly.

The game is almost over, but the band played on. It reminded me of the scene in Titanic when the string quartet started playing while the ship sank. Yea, I saw Titanic. Shut up.

Midway through the 4th quarter, about half the stadium realized that Michigan sucked at football, and started heading home.

With people leaving, the seats ahead of us opened up. I took this shot for a size reference. The distance between that 3 and that 2 is about an inch and a half.

Yeah, In case there was any doubt, Michigan lost.
